Statement of Purpose

A Service Assistant helps to ensure all Members are provided with prompt and friendly service per KBYC standards. The Service Assistant plays a key role in each and every Member’s experience, directly and indirectly. They know how to help their coworkers while also having the ability to know when to ask for help. The Service Assistant must know their menu and also be expert at expediting food items. The Service Assistant goes above and beyond to exceed Member expectations during all Member interactions.

Primary Duties

· Acknowledge Members warmly with a genuine smile and eye contact, using their name

· Provide bread and water service to each table in a timely manner. Provide any drink orders to the server as necessary

· Assist in serving food and/or beverages using proper serving standards

· Have superior knowledge of all plate garnishes while expediting/running

· Work with the culinary team as needed while expediting/running

· Follow-up with Members as necessary to provide additional condiments, sauces, etc.

· Remove used tableware between courses and provide tableware for next course. Take soiled tableware to dish room and unload – sort and stack silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in designated areas

· Work as a team with the front of house and back of house staff. Employees will assist in all areas of the Club in order to provide superior service to the Members. Servers and Service Assistants will work together to re-set tables and rooms as quickly as possible, to ensure the dining areas appear organized and clean

· Observant to Members' needs throughout dining experience to ensure they receive high quality service, regardless of section or scheduled job function

· Protect establishment and Members by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol control policies

· Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment
