The cycling portion of the triathlon event will have the race participants depart from the Crandon Park, north beach exit (MM 2.4), turning right onto the Crandon Boulevard. The race will travel in a westerly direction (towards the mainland) on the north side of the Rickenbacker Causeway roadway, to Hobie Island center median. The cyclists will then U-turn, and travel back in an easterly direction toward the Crandon Park north beach entrance to the point of origin. During the event, vehicular traffic will be routed onto the south side (Miami Seaquarium side) of the causeway in a counter-flow manner, between the Crandon Boulevard, north beach entrance/exit median turn, to the Hobie Island center median. The running, swimming, finish, and awards ceremony will take place within the Crandon Park. The cycling portion of the event will utilize the causeway vehicle travel roadway (Reverse traffic flow, maintenance of traffic plan (MOT).
MOT starts with set up at 4:00 a.m., completing around 9:30 a.m., with the barricade company clearing the area no later than 10:30 a.m. MDPD and MPD will be covering the maintenance of traffic plan, for the event course.
