Join SeaKeepers, Miami Waterkeeper, and ResilientSea at Historic Virginia Key Beach Park for another Halloween fun-filled cleanup on October 25, 2026 from 9AM - 12PM! Come in your Halloween costume to take part in a costume contest, a beach cleanup, and pumpkin carving and painting (while supplies last). Halloween is an extremely wasteful holiday between frequently replaced, polyester costumes, single-use decorations and candy wrappers. Be part of the solution by removing trash from our coastlines and celebrating sustainably.
Waiver: All volunteers must complete the mandatory Liability and Appearance Release Waiver HERE to participate in the cleanup.
Meeting spot: Meet us at the Dance Pavilion, the large white tent closest to the blue bathroom buildings. A map will be emailed to all registered volunteers.
Parking information: Free parking is available throughout the park, just let the guard at the entrance know you are here for the beach cleanup. To save emissions, carpooling is always recommended!
Volunteers should bring:
- Hat and sunglasses
- Sturdy shoes (close-toe preferred)
- Water in a reusable water bottle
- Sunscreen and bug spray
- Your best halloween costume!
We will provide:
- Buckets and bags
- Gloves and pickers
- Water refills
- Community service hours
- A spooky time
