Come join Ocean Conservancy for a beach cleanup event on June 17th at Historic Virginia Key Beach Park in Miami, where Biscayne Bay meets the ocean. Water, fruit and light breakfast refreshments will be available for volunteers. All supplies for the cleanup will be provided including gloves and bags, but volunteers should wear appropriate clothing to protect themselves from the sun, wind and bugs.
- All volunteers will be required to sign a waiver before taking part in the cleanup activity. Paper copies of the waiver will be available on-site but you can fill it out ahead of time HERE.
- Ample parking is available at the park and fees will be waived for all volunteers. Just mention that you are there for the beach cleanup with Ocean Conservancy. We encourage volunteers to carpool and use public transit when possible.
- Please dress comfortably according to the weather. We suggest wearing a hat for shade, closed-toe shoes or sneakers and sunscreen. We will have additional sunscreen and bug spray on site.
- Water will be provided in water coolers. Volunteers should bring their own reusable water bottles and we’ll have paper cups on hand if needed.
- Reusable gloves and trash bags will be provided; however, feel free to bring your own gardening or work gloves and bucket!
