Free Concert of global winners of the Dranoff International 2 Piano Competition. Internationally acclaimed Ukrainian piano duo Olha Chipak and Oleksiy Kushnir will perform great duo piano works of Johannes Brahms and Franz Liszt. Winning the competition launched their wonderful career and they now perform in the great concert halls around the world. Also, special performing guests will be Miami-Dade public high school students who have won Dranoff’s education program of writing poetry based on music called PIANO SLAM. The Dranoff International 2 Piano Foundation, headquartered in Miami is the world champion of 2 Piano. Dranoff awards the world's top prize in the field of 2 piano performance, commissions famous Grammy, Academy Award, and Pulitzer Prize winning composers to compose new works, and has the largest music and education youth outreach program in the Miami-Dade Public schools-- PIANO SLAM. PIANO SLAM serves more than 10,000 teenagers every year. This is the 10th year of PIANO SLAM—which provides curriculum, teacher workshops, live 2 piano school concerts from global winning duos-- all to increase vocabulary building and writing skills. It culminates in a poetry writing contest, where the top 15 countywide winners receive professional theater coaching and perform live in a Broadway style show the Adrienne Arsht Center. 7p in the Church Sanctuary with reception to meet the artists will follow in the Parish Hall.
