Debbie Wanninkhof, local Key Biscayne resident and parent of Patrick Wanninkhof who was killed by a distracted driver, will discuss the growing epidemic that is Distracted Driving and share how we can act to save lives. Mark Merwitzer, a local Miami teen, is advocating for texting and driving to become a primary criminal offense in Florida and will cover current legislation and what is being done. The lecture is on Thursday, Oct 12 at 7:00 PM in the Lighthouse Room at the Key Biscayne Community Center.
