PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
The Village of Key Biscayne seeks part-time employees to fill various positions at the Community Center. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and are open until filled.  

Front Desk Attendant (part-time) - Starting pay rate is $17.00 per hour (effective April 2022)
Job duties include, but are not limited to, greeting and assisting all patrons; processing memberships and program registrations; tending to the telephone and fax machine; assisting program instructors; ensuring the safety of all patrons (especially children); enforcing policies and rules. Position involves managing an array of responsibilities that can change on a daily basis. Qualified candidates will possess the following skills and attributes: excellent communication skills, excellent customer service skills, excellent multi-tasking skills, some computer and phone skills, ability to enforce rules and regulations, ability to work well with others, ability to work well under pressure, courteous, professional, organized, bi-lingual a plus.  Must have reliable transportation and be able to work night, holiday and weekend shifts.  

Room Monitor (part-time) - Starting pay rate is $15.00 per hour  (effective April 2022)
Position involves interacting with children and adults in a positive and professional manner; supervising the use, care and maintenance of supplies and equipment; maintaining facility by reporting problems, cleaning up and ensuring overall safety; enforcing facility policies and regulations; assisting with various Village sponsored special events, programs, and activities as needed. Qualified candidates will possess the following skills and attributes: ability to effectively meet and deal with the public, excellent communication skills, excellent customer service skills, work well with and around children, ability to enforce rules and regulations, ability to work well with others, ability to handle stressful situations, courteous, professional, motivated.  Applicant must be mature and take position seriously, as the safety of all patrons is the primary responsibility.  Must have reliable transportation and be able to work afternoon, evening, holiday and weekend hours.  Must be dependable/reliable and meet acceptable attendance requirements at all times.  

Beach Monitor (part-time) - Starting pay rate is $17.00 per hour  (effective April 2022)
The Beach Monitor position staffs the Village’s Kite Boarding launch area and channel. The position is staffed when winds are sufficient for kite boarding. Therefore, you may also be employed as a part-time staff in any other of the positions currently available to fill this position. You will be paid at the $17/hour rate, or $18/hour rate for lifeguards who serve as Beach Monitors, for all hours worked if you are available to complete shifts as a Beach Monitor. You must have a valid Florida drivers license as you will be accessing the beach kite boarding area with a Village golf cart. Candidates must be able to learn the rules and regulations regarding the proper use of the launch are and ensure that users have the proper permit and “streamer” before accessing the launch zone. Qualified candidates must have: ability to effectively meet and deal with the public, excellent communication skills, excellent customer service skills. Applicant must be mature and take position seriously, as the safety of all residents is the primary responsibility. Must have reliable transportation, be dependable/reliable and meet acceptable attendance requirements at all times. Must have a valid Florida drivers license. Applicants will be required to work various shifts, to include mornings, afternoons, nights, holidays and weekends.

Lifeguard (part-time) - Starting pay rate is $18.00 per hour based on experience  (effective April 2022)
Specific duties include (but are not limited to) maintaining constant surveillance of patrons in the Village of Key Biscayne Community Center pool; performing various maintenance duties as directed to ensure a clean and safe facility; acting immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency; providing emergency care and treatment, as needed, until the arrival of emergency medical services; presenting professional appearance and attitude at all times; maintaining a high standard of customer service. Qualified candidates will have at least one year of direct lifeguarding experience, CPR/AED certification for lifeguards, and Lifeguarding First Aid certification by a recognized training source. Must have reliable transportation. Applicants will be required to work various shifts, to include nights, holidays and weekends.  

Acceptable candidates for all positions must serve as a representative of the Village of Key Biscayne by demonstrating competence and a positive attitude through the display of professionalism, courtesy, and appropriate tact and discretion in all interactions with other employees and with the public.

Rickenbacker Toll - the Village of Key Biscayne will reimburse part-time employees for the cost of an annual Rickenbacker Causeway Commuter Plan ($60 value).
