On February 8, the Village Council unanimously supported a motion for the Village administration to begin creating a concept to improve the Rickenbacker Causeway.
The administration will work with key stakeholders and the public to develop a scope of work. From that scope of work, the administration will propose to the Council a plan to potentially contract with a planning & design professional to create a Rickenbacker Causeway concept that portrays the Village’s interests and facilitates coordination and continue engagement with Miami-Dade County and other potential collaborators.
Additionally, the motion calls for the Village administration to immediately begin working with Miami-Dade County as they develop the Bear Cut Bridge report which is due to the Board of County Commissioners within 60 days of January 19, 2022; as directed by Commissioner Regalado on January 19, 2022.
There is a short period of time to bring a recommendation before the Council and the Village wants to include residents in the scope of work development process.
