Rhapsody for Golda

This exciting one-person musical written by the married creative team of Sharon & David Ohrenstein tells the inspiring story of Golda Meir. Playing multiple characters, Sharon brings to life Golda's rise from poverty to Prime Minister with the tuneful score and piano accompaniment of David Ohrenstein.

Determined to help build a homeland where she and her people can feel safe, Golda moves to British Palestine and helps create the state of Israel. Zion, an otherworldly spirit, guides Golda through the challenges of marriage, children, and a political career. He becomes her greatest love.

Davis and Sharon push the envelop of musical theater writing by utilizing motifs and other music cues within the dialogue giving the piano, at times, a character voice. The overall sound is like a crossbreeding of a film and musical theater score.
