The 2023 Village of Key Biscayne Memorial Day Ceremony, presented by the Richard L. Cromartie American Legion Post 374, will take place Monday, May 29th, 2023 at the Village Green flag poles starting at 9:00 AM.
It?s the one day a year we put aside to remember fallen heroes and to pray that no heroes will ever have to die for us again. It's a day of thanks for the valor of others, a day to remember the splendor of America, Key Biscayne, and a day to be with the family.
The program will include:
- The Village of Key Biscayne Police and Fire Rescue Color Guard
- Keynote speakers from the Village and Miami-Dade County
- Cadets from MAST Academy Coast Guard Jr. Leadership Program ]
- A Ceremonial Laying of the Wreath in remembrance of those who have died in service to our country.
- Prayer and reflection of our nation's military and their families.
- Historical interpretations and reading of "In Flanders Fields".
- The selling of poppies to give financial, social and emotional support to members and veterans of the armed forces.
- Patriotic Songs: National Anthem and God Bless America
All are welcome to this community event to honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom
