WHAT IS THE STRATEGIC VISION PLAN? The Strategic Vision Plan summarizes the qualities and culture that give our village its character, while identifying future enhancements and aspirations that residents seek for our long-term future. It will be crafted by our community, for our community. DPZ CoDESIGN works alongside the Strategic Vision Board to engage Key Biscayne's residents and stakeholders in crafting the initial Vision Plan goals, and clarify the priorities and trade-offs, the final Vision Plan, although potentially ambitious, must remain realistic and executable in the Village of Key Biscayne.
WHY DO WE NEED A VISION PLAN? This Vision Plan guides decision-making by our Village Council and provides a roadmap for the future. The process culminates in identifying short, medium, and long-term improvements, and the pathway to implementing them. The Vision Plan began in 2019 with the appointment of a Strategic Vision Board of community leaders charged with the responsibility of generating the Village's strategic Vision Plan -- an inspiring guidebook that is acts as a "living" document that can continue, through regular updates, to guide the Village for the decades to come. The Board undertook an analysis of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (S.W.O.T), and have organize those findings into key themes on which to engage the citizens of the Village.
