We are delighted to welcome back special guest astronomers, Carlos Garcia and Russell Harcha, from Southern Cross Astronomical Society to share their unique stargazingexperience. They bring with them enthusiasm and special equipment to view and photograph the night sky using Astro Photography.
Meet the guest astronomers behind the Southern Cross Astronomical Society:
Carlos Garcia has been a hobby astronomer for close to 10 years and into astrophotography for the last 2 years. He uses visual telescopes (Celestron 8SE and the 4SE) Both of these scopes have go-to tracking functionality to keep the target in view of the eyepiece without manual adjustment. And also Smart telescopes (The Seestar S50 and S30) They provide impressive image capture of deep space targets such as galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters.
Russell Harcha has been an amateur astronomer and SCAS member for 30+ years. He recently retired from teaching Physics in Miami-Dade schools for 38 years. His telescope is a Dobsonian-type reflector that he built in 1990.
