16th Annual Rotary Key Biscayne Wine & Food Fest

A variety of food delicacies prepared by several prominent South Florida restaurants is included in the price of admission. In this year’s showdown, five judges will taste some of the finest wines produced from 16 leading wineries across the globe. In the competition, every bottle of wine is judged on its own attributes to determine only two winning finalists for ‘Best in Show’ Red and White wines. More than 30 wines will be offered including the wines participating in the competition. This year’s participating wineries represent both Old and New World, as follows:

• Old World: France, Spain and Italy
• New World: Argentina, Uruguay, USA – California region, South Africa, New Zealand and USA – Washington
State

Shari Gherman, president of the American Fine Wine Competition & Gala, will join us again as our wine director. The five noted wine professionals who will be judging these exiting wines include, Wendy Rosano, Roberto Colombi, Marcella Carneiro, Jacqueline Coleman, and Paula Sinclair.

Strategic Importers has graciously supplied all presented wines, which will be available for sale at the event through The Golden Hog our official wine retailer.

Rotary’s collaboration continues with The Arc of South Florida. The Arc of South Florida’s members will organize a silent – online auction and receive part of the proceeds to fund its programming.

Rotary is excited to work with the Eric/Hope Verbeeck Foundation, which sponsors and partners with Rotary Global Grants to benefit education, water, sanitation and economic development projects in Africa, Haiti and Central America.

The proceeds from this event may qualify for multiple matching grants. Over the past four years, the Rotary Club of Key Biscayne has successfully obtained matching grants from local Rotary District 6990 and The Rotary International Foundation in Evanston, IL exceeding $500,000 to maximize the charitable impact of this fundraiser.
