SUMMARY:Miami Seaquarium Earth Day Celebration
DESCRIPTION:To commemorate Earth Day\, Miami Seaquarium is hosting "Four Days\, Four Events\, For Earth" on April 19   22\, 2018. In efforts to inspire and educate guests about ocean and marine life conservation\, the park's Earth Day celebration will feature a happy hour/beach clean-up\, a Moana Movie Night\, Lionfish derby\, and a 4Earth Block Party.\n\n\n\nGreen Drinks/Beach clean-up with 4Ocean   Thursday\, April 19 at 6:30   8:30 PM\n\n This will be a sunset happy hour/beach clean-up at Hobie Beach\, adjacent to the park's parking lot.  The happy hour will include a short and informative guest lecture by 4Ocean\, a 501c3 nonprofit that actively removes trash from the ocean and coastlines while inspires individuals to work together for cleaner oceans\, one pound at a time. Happy hour will begin at 6:30 p.m.\, the lecture will begin at 7:00 p.m. and the clean-up will follow. Pricing for this event is free. Drinks will be provided free of charge courtesy of Sombra Mezcal\, a tequila company that is dedicated to sustainable practices. This is a BYOC (bring your own cup event).\n\n \n\n4earth Moana Movie Festival  Friday\, April 20 at 7:30 PM\n\n The family-friendly evening will showcase Disney's Moana. Families may bring their own lawn chairs or blankets and lay out in the event field to watch the films. This event is free of charge.\n\n \n\n4earth Lionfish Derby & Reef Clean-up   Saturday\, April 21 at 8:00 AM   1:30 PM\n\n In efforts to raise awareness on the Lionfish invasion destroying local reefs and native creatures in the Caribbean and Atlantic Ocean\, Miami Seaquarium is hosting a Lionfish Derby & Reef Clean-up. The derby invites divers and ocean lovers to volunteer to catch lionfish and clean our reefs. To register please contact dive shop Deco Divers at 305-861-6277 for meeting time and location.  Participants will be given a discounted rate.  *Media note: Lion Fish Derby will not take place at Miami Seaquarium.\n\n \n\n4earth Block Party   Sunday\, April 22 at 11:00 AM   4:00 PM\n\n Guests will have the opportunity to learn about different environmental issues or practices via stations located throughout the park.  Some of these stations include the Sea2Shore H2O education bus\, Living Shorelines from MUVE at Frost Science and others.  Additional activities include composting workshops for families\, Miami Seaquarium rescue and rehab activities\, and earthing for kids   a fun and meditational way to connect with nature.  Kids will have the opportunity to spin the wheel and win various prices. Admission to this event is included with a Miami Seaquarium general admission ticket.
