SUMMARY:Art Exhibition at Commenoz Gallery
DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, February 3rd\, Commenoz Gallery will present "FROM HERE TO THERE" an exhibition of paintings by two women artists: Meredith BUINING\, 1969\, from Sydney\, Australia and Maria BURGAZ\, 1970\, from Madrid\, Spain.\n\n	Meredith BUINING has been living in Key Biscayne for the past five years and will be going back to Australia in March. As an artist who has lived in different places\, she is naturally drawn to work in the environment where she resides. She was greatly influenced by her time living in South Korea and she feels that her work has absorbed some of the North Asian aesthetic. Meredith believes that Key Biscayne is the perfect place to observe the juxtaposition between the urban and natural environment. She finds visually interesting to paint seascapes\, beaches\, bridges\, and see them as unique parts of a whole. In these new series of local landscapes you can appreciate her desire to reach out of comfort zones\, pushing boundaries and exploring techniques with new materials. You will see this island with new eyes with these gouaches and tin collages.\n\n	Maria BURGAZ lives and works in Spain. The first impression that you get from her canvases in which the technique of collage is prevalent\, is the explosion of color and their fantasy . Her compositions are filled with a narrative of symbols . In her own words: "Today we live in a world in which we are constantly looking at images and I find interesting things everywhere. Then in the canvas\, I isolate those and assemble them sometimes with a touch of irony\, sarcasm or humor. I also like that when people get close to my work they discover textures\, materials and thicknesses\, since my works are mixed media with collage\, gouaches\, acrylics\, oils\, waxes.....".\n\n	Commenoz Gallery is located in the Key Biscayne Galeria Shopping Center\, 328 Crandon Blvd.\, # 218
